With Bert®, Hoke County Schools will reduce plug load energy expenses by 60% saving over 90,000 kWh annually.
Located near Fayetteville, North Carolina, Hoke County is a low-wealth, high-growth district with 14 schools and almost 9,000 students. The district is committed to offering its students a 21st century learning system with an emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). When Hoke County decided to undertake a performance contract with Brady Energy Services, they wanted to include plug load. The Bert® WiFi® Plug Load Management System was chosen and the district now has real-time measurement and control of projectors, vending machines, laptop charging carts, printers and water coolers.
“With Bert® and our other energy saving upgrades, our classrooms have become natural laboratories for our students to learn about energy usage and conservation,” says Hoke County School District Superintendent Dr. Freddie Williamson.
